a blank screen for now

I feel somewhat like a blank screen. To be sure, I have about a dozen topics I want to write about. But, factoring in a few days away, a busier than normal work schedule and no a/c in my car until the part finally arrives tomorrow-I am currently ineffectual as a blogger.

However, I still cannot even login to my dashboard without expressing how utterly appalling the oil catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico has become. I rarely put much faith in the moral integrity of any large company to ‘do the right thing’. For that reason, I am much more troubled by what appears to be an inability on the part of our government to adequately manage and protect our coast.

And I hope to utilize better management of my blogging time soon.

  1. I find myself getting agitated when I have something in mind to write about but can't find the time. You strike me as a careful crafstman of your words, so I appreciate that you don't tackle the writing until you can do it justice.

The oil gush is making me sick, too. SICK.

  2. & now with so many failed attempts at capping the well, did you hear some people are advocating using a nuclear explosive to stop the leak? You can read more about it here: http://www.thetakeaway.org/2010/jun/03/oil-continues-leak-some-advocate-nuking-well/

It bothers me to think there was no sure plan to deal in place in the event that this would happen. God only knows the repercussions we all face because of this disaster.
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  3. I'll be looking forward to your blogging again! Amen to the coast situation. So so sad, and incomprehensibly big.

  4. Time away can often rejuvenate. AC helps in that regard as well. As for the BP debacle -- it's almost too much to wrap one's brain around, devastating on so many levels.

  5. I just can't look anymore at the wild life caught in the oil. It breaks my heart.
As for the government being lax...don't get me started.
    Very very sad!
Can't wait for your return and know just how you feel.

  6. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to give us your next excellent piece; it will be worth waiting for, Christopher. I feel as you do about the misery in the Gulf. The world is bleeding to death and we are all so helpless.
